September Wrap Up and October TBR

Hey everyone!
Today I'm doing my September Wrap Up and my October TBR. To be honest, September wasn't a great reading month. I read 1 and about 3/4 of a book. But in October, there are many new releases that I'll be reading!

WRAP UP
So I randomly decided to reread The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan this month. Oops?
I also started reading Insight by Jamie Magee (it was free) but I haven't finished it yet!

TBR
This is a bit more exciting. I might reread Insurgent by Veronica Roth to refresh myself.
I will also be reading these new releases:
  • The House of Hades by Rick Riordan (4/5 Heroes of Olympus)
  • Allegiant by Veronica Roth (3/3 Divergent)
  • Unsouled by Neal Shusterman (3/3 Unwind)
  • Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken (2/3 The Darkest Minds)
  • Altered by Gennifer Albin (2/3 Crewel)
I'm looking forward to this month's reading! Thanks for reading, Kait

Uncompleted Series Tag

Hey everyone!
Two posts ago I did the
Completed Series Tag but I realized I had many uncompleted series as well. So here I am, doing this post for you all! Like last time, I'll be listing all the book series I haven't finished- and I believe for most of them, it's because the additions in the series are not out yet. This time, I'm providing links to my reviews, too!
Those are all the uncompleted series that I have! I'm excited to finish all these series. I hope you enjoyed, and thanks for reading! -Kait

Book Review: Crewel by Gennifer Albin

Hey everyone!
Today I will be reviewing Crewel by Gennifer Albin. This book review will be spoiler free! I finally got around to reading this book and I really enjoyed it. I would probably rate it at 4.5/5. "

Crewel (Crewel World, #1)"Enter a tangled world of secrets and intrigue where a girl is in charge of other’s destinies, but not her own.

Sixteen-year-old Adelice Lewys has always been special. When her parents discover her gift—the ability to weave the very fabric of reality—they train her to hide it. For good reason, they don’t want her to become a Spinster — one of the elite, beautiful, and deadly women who determine what people eat, where they live, how many children they have, and even when they die.

Thrust into the opulent Western Coventry, Adelice will be tried, tested and tempted as she navigates the deadly politics at play behind its walls. Now caught in a web of lies and forbidden romance, she must unravel the sinister truth behind her own unspeakable power. Her world is hanging by a thread, and Adelice, alone, can decide to save it — or destroy it."

I don't normally talk about the presentation of the book, but I absolutely adore this book cover. But also what's inside I really liked too. I thought the world that the main character lived in was so fascinating and very different from all the other dystopian worlds I've read. The idea that the whole world they lived in was weaved and can be manipulated at the touch of the Spinters and Creweler was so intriguing. The characters were also great to read about. I especially loved our main character Adelice. She was strong, but not in a Katniss type way. I feel like she, in some ways, is similar to Cassia from Matched. They both have that secret rebellious touch, and are strong, but like I already said, in a non-Katniss way. The other characters were also very interesting; for instance, Maela, Enora, and Loricel. The whole idea of wiping a strand "clean" or "removing" it really also represents the dystopian aspect into this world. At first I was going to rate it 4 stars, but then at the end I decided to rate it 4.5 stars. I saw the end coming, but I so excited to see where the next book goes. This book, in my opinion, is definitely worth reading! -Kait

Christmas Wishlist: Books I'm Asking For

Hey everyone!
So sorry about the irregular posts, I have been super busy in school. However, today I decided to share the books that I am asking for for Christmas. You can find all of them on Amazon which is where I'm asking to get mine from. I'm not going to get all of them, but I am excited to share them with you all.

  1. The Hunger Games Collectors Edition Is it not beautiful? No, I am not joking. Yes, I probably have something wrong with me when I say I want to display it. Haha, but yes, I am asking for it.
  2. Beautiful Creatures Box Set I really have been wanting to read the first one, and since I normally continue the series even if the fist book was okay, I thought I would ask for this. (Also, I didn't know the order.)
  3. Crewel This book seems very interesting and I already read the first chapter and I enjoyed it.
  4. Article 5 Same thing with Crewel (and pretty much all the other books I will be listing.
  5. Breathe
  6. Under the Never Sky
  7. Enclave
Those are all the books I'm asking for! If you read any of them let me know what you think in the comments! -Kait
