Book Review: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the UniverseHey everyone!
Today I'll be reviewing Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I read this because one of my friends loves it and we made a deal: If I read this, she has to read the first Percy Jackson book. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this book!

"Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be."

I'm not a huge contemporary reader, but I did like this one. It wasn't my favorite, but still very enjoyable. One thing I loved about this book was the characters. Whether it was Ari or Dante or even to Legs, I really thought they were all interesting. This book also made you think about everything in a way. For instance, when Ari talked about laughing, he was just thinking about it. The concept of the book is fairly simplistic, but it was brought up to a whole other level. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary books!
Thanks for reading! -Kait
