Discussing TMI: City of Bones and PJO: Sea of Monsters

Hey everyone!
Many books are turning into movie adaptations which can be an exciting thing- or a nerve-wracking one. I'm looking forward to them, but let's just cross our fingers!
From what I've seen with the City of Bones teaser trailer, which you can see here, I think we're off to a good start. The only thing I disagree with is Jace's appearance, but I know it's not going to affect the movie that much. Although City of Bones is not my favorite book, the trailer makes me excited to see the movie. A new trailer is coming out this Monday, I think.

However, Sea of Monsters has a new director, and they died Annabeth's hair! A trailer is supposedly supposed to come out this Monday as well, and all these stills and where you can find the pictures and captions are here. In the picture to the left, it looks like they're on the Princess Andromeda, I don't remember how to spell it. So that's good news that they're following somethings.

Grover was not with them, and it is kind of important to the story since Grover is supposed to be with the giant. So I'm curios to see what they do. Both movies are coming out in August and just a week apart! Let me know what you think down below!

Birthday Wishlist

Hey everyone!
My birthday is in a little less than a month (April 23rd) and I'm planning on asking for books-in a way. Really what I'm asking for are the following:
  • Ipsy Subscription Service (where you receive monthly beauty products!) (Website)
  • Amazon Giftcards
  • Local Bookstore Giftcard
  • iTunes Giftcard
If you noticed, I have Amazon Giftcards where as iTunes and my local bookstore are both giftcard (not plural). You may be saying, WE DON'T CARE. But I'm hoping to get mostly Amazon giftcards because there are two box sets that I'm planning on getting. No matter what I want to get this box set:
I read Beautiful Creatures on my phone, so I don't physically have the first one in the series. I thought this way, I could get all four in hardcover for half the price! The other box set I want it the Infernal Devices. I read TMI, but I haven't read TID yet. Just this two together adds up to about $70 for seven hardcover books. My question to you is should I get TID series? I somewhat liked TMI, but I don't know if I should spend $30 on it.
This are the two main things that I want, but I have a few others. If you see anyone that you loved, please leave it down in the comments!
Hope you enjoyed! -Kait

HAPPY HUNGER GAMES

Hey everyone!
Today is the one-year anniversary of The Hunger Games! Unfortunately, I'm too busy to watch the movie today or read through the book, so I thought to make a post! What are you planning on doing today to celebrate this mark? Or maybe it's just me considering doing something... But anyways, there's only 243 days to wait until Catching Fire! A normal post will be up soon. -Kait

The Ultimate Book Tag

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day yesterday! Today I thought it would be fun to do this tag I found floating around on YouTube. Hope you enjoy!

Do you get sick while reading in the car?
I don't get sick, per say, but I do get headaches and dizziness.
What author's style is unique to you and why?
Taherah Mafi (author of Shatter Me) has an amazing writing style using the cross out line; she repeats words and just in general, her writing is great!
Harry Potter or Twilight?
Definitely Harry Potter- and I have never read or seen Twilight!
Do you carry a book bag? If so, what's in it besides books?
No, I don't. I have a purse which I use sometimes.
Do you smell your books?
Well, I don't go through all of my books to smell them; however, I did read Delirium when I was at Florida almost a year ago and it smells so good!
Books without or with illustrations?
It doesn't really matter that much, but it's makes the book a little more fun in my opinion.
What book did you love reading but then discovered it wasn't quality writing?
I haven't had to go through that experience yet.
Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood?
Not really. But I did remember I would try to read Junie B. Jones as fast as I could and my record time was two hours and forty-five minutes in second grade.
What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
Either Delirium Stories by Lauren Oliver which has 100 something pages or The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan  which also has around 100 pages.
Thickest book on your shelf?
I actually don't have Harry Potter on my shelf, so it has to be Mark of Athena which has 574 pages which isn't a lot!
Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself as an author?
I do write! You can see my story by clicking "They Chose Me (My Story)" above! And I hope to be an author one day, but if I were to be, I don't think I would be a good one.
When did you get into reading?
I liked to read when I was younger a lot. I actually remember in kindergarten I was so frustrated because I was learning how to spell simple words and not writing sentences. Then in 5th to the beginning of 7th grade (until I read THG) I hated reading. Indeed, it was a bad time.
Favorite classic?
The only classic I have read that I know of is To Kill a Mockingbird which I liked! A lot of classics are adult books, and I prefer YA.
What is your best subject in school?
Grade wise- Social Studies because in the past two years I have only received one A on my report card-the rest were A+'s. English is really easy for me too. But then again, students in my class don't understand apostrophes. It's sad. If it's plural ending in s, it's like ducks' pond. Anything else is 's.
What would happen if someone gave you a book that you read but hated it?
If it was someone like my parents, I would ask to return or get another one. If not then I might try to reread it if it has good ratings or something. Most of the time, I don't get books for presents! :(
What is a lesser known series that is similar to THG or HP?
Any dystopia like Legend (Marie Lu) or the increasingly popular Divergent trilogy (Veronica Roth). Forgot to say, but about a week ago, it was my anniversary of reading Divergent! I know you all care so, so much.
What is a bad habit you do besides rambling while filming?
Like I said, this was made for YouTube, but something I do that's bad while typing is opening other links while I should be typing to browse elsewhere.
What is your favorite word?
Hmm... it's fun saying antidisestablishmentarianism because it makes you sound all smart. For some reason, I like antebellum too. And capricious. I don't know.
Nerd, dork, or geek?
Nerd: an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.
Dork: Slang.  a silly out-of-touch person who tends to look odd or behave ridiculously around others; a social misfit:
Geek: a computer expert or enthusiast (a term of pride as self-reference, but often considered offensive when used by outsiders.) I'm not antisocial or awkward around others, but besides that a nerd, probably. Obsessive over books and THG... yes.
Vampires or fairies?
If it's like TMI fairies where they're all cunning, fairies. But otherwise, vampires.
Shiftshapers or angels?

I like both, but shapeshifting is really cool.
Spirits or werewolves?

Definitely werewolves.
Zombies or vampires?

Hmm... I will have to go with vampires.
Love triangle or forbidden love?

It depends how they're done. If the love triangle is poor, than forbidden love. If the forbidden love is annoying and over excessive, than love triangle. Have to go with forbidden love though.
Full on romance or action packed with few love scenes?

By far an action packed novel with few love scenes... like THG! Or Divergent, or Legend, or PJO... great books.

I TAG ALL OF YOU.
Post a link to yours down below!

Divergent Casting

Shailene Woodley (Tris)
Hey everyone!
Recently, four characters have been casted to be in the Divergent movie which is coming out in a year and a week (March 21, 2014)! So I thought it would be fun to share with you what I thought of there choices. Just to let you all know, I have never seen any of these actors act, this is mostly based on their physical appearance! I found this off of Veronica Roth's blog which led to this website here! These images are from here!

Ansel Elgort (Caleb)
Shailene Woodley is playing our main character Tris! This news was real eased a little while ago, but I just waited until there were more people casted. In this picture, I can picture her as Tris, but I just hope they do the most minimalistic makeup. Tris describes herself as not particularly pretty.

Then we have Ansel Elgort as Caleb. Not particularly as I pictured him. I thought of him having longer and straighter hair. But hey, I still think it's not bad!

Maggie Q. (Tori)
Next we have Maggie Q. as Tori. I pictured her more Dauntless-built and with tattoos (which they can probably do fake ones or something. But otherwise I think she will be a great pick!

Lastly, we have Zoe Kravitz (a.k.a Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) daughter!!!) playing Christina. Definitely a great pick, and I'm not being (To-) biased (get To-biased... Tobias?) here because she's "Cinna's" daughter, but she looks how I pictured Christina! :)

Let me know what you think down below! -Kait

Book Review: Requiem by Lauren Oliver

Hey everyone!
Today I have the long awaited book review on Requiem! All in all, I really did like this book. I have one part that really bothered me, but otherwise, I thought it as great! This book review will contain spoilers for all three books: Delirium, Pandemonium, and eventually, Requiem.
Requiem (Delirium, #3)"They have tried to squeeze us out, to stamp us into the past.
But we are still here.
And there are more of us every day.
Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.
After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancĂ©e of the young mayor.
Maybe we are driven crazy by our feelings.
Maybe love is a disease, and we would be better off without it.
But we have chosen a different road.
And in the end, that is the point of escaping the cure: We are free to choose.
We are even free to choose the wrong thing.
Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge."
